But what if you just walk away from this life and people left behind feel so lonely without you?
What if you know that your loved one is alone and lonely without you and you cannot do anything but to give them sympathy that you will always be with them no matter what. How would you say this?
How would you convey this message of sympathy to your loved one?
I think no words can be stronger than this song.
Let me tell you why?
Mera Saya is movie starring Sunil Dutt (Thakur Rakesh Singh, Lawyer as profession) and Sadhana (in a double role, Geeta as wife of Rakesh Singh and Nisha as dacoit).
Rakesh Singh went to abroad saying goodbye to his beautiful wife Geeta and when he returns Geeta was about to die due to bad health. And after this a gang of dacoit was caught by the police and one of the dacoit named Nisha claims to be Rakesh Singh`s wife and and not the dacoit Nisha.
When Rakesh Singh meet Nisha he finds that Nisha looks exactly as Geeta and not only this Geeta disclose some intimate details about Rakesh Singh in court that a wife could know. And so many other facts that Geeta could have known. Here a situation is created where on the one side Rakesh Singh knows that his wife is dead and not going to come back? But has she come back? These question make him go crazy and depressed and on the other hand Geeta thinks that as she was caught with other dacoit she is believed to be Nisha by the court and his husband Rakesh so she has to lose everything, she will lose the one that she loved, she will lose the one who loves her a lot and the one that she could die for. This is the feeling that is being captured the meaning of this song.
The song is a promise from the wife to his husband that no matter what I will always be with you near you looking at you and will always stand by you like your shadow. When you hear this song just imagine the one you love the most and you will see how much you love him/her. Its my pleasure that I was born on the land of such a great people like Lata Mangeshkar she is blessed with such a melodious voice and she is “Bharat Ratana” which is the most prestigious civilian award in India. Lata Ji is in film industry as singer since 1942 such a huge journey.

For me this stanza is the most heart touching stanza in this song…

My sorrow has remained present in your sorrow in your pain,
My love has always accompanied you in every birth every moment,
Whichever birth you take (as per Hinduism the relation of husband and wife is considered to be of 7 births, It is believed that husband and wife remarriage in all 7 births)
So here the wife says whenever you reborn in your next lives you will find me next to you always no matter what in any birth every time.
